Here's a simple way to look and feel better, and kick some serious acne tail. I know it works because not only have I read it, but I do this. Refuel with raw foods, cut out junk. Chemicals and medication are not a solution. It never is. What you put on your body is just as important as what you put in it. Your acne could be caused by one or all factors listed above.
There are a number of reasons that you may be tired, in the clouds, depressed, and have acne! Terrible to live with but check this out:
Here's What I did and What You Should do Too!
Here's what I did and saw serious results quickly! You will want to attack acne from the inside. its all about eating healthy and exercise. That's it. First, cease & desist of all highly toxic and synthetic laced foods. I know it may seem hard but start off small and work your way up. See a naturapathic doctor to do this effectively or go it alone. For anyone going through relentless cystic acne, forget the dermatologist -see a naturopathic doctor may be the answer. If you have a moderate case or wish to attempt to go it alone, there are a number of great products on the market have natural ingredients but still put preservatives and synthetic materials in their herbs and cleanses so read your LABELS! I can't stress that enough! Even if you don't know what everything means, look it up. Here is my list of the 8 common OUTLAWS which are synthetics, toxic preservatives to look out for found in your daily products to name a few.
The OutLaw List
- Red 40 -linked to cancer (any food coloring for that matter-STAY AWAY!) body can't process that
- Partially Hydrogenated Oils -you know that one right? can clog arteries and organs
- Sodium Benzoate -is used as flavor enhancer but is known to cause long term cell damage including birth defects
- High Fructose Corn Syrup -any corn syrups. Look for cane juice or things sweetened by fruit
- Monsodium Glutamate(MSG) -flavor enhancer. This has been linked to cancer, depletion of potassium &minerals, and to cause brain defects over time
- Sodium Aluminum/Aluminum -yes, this is from a metal -in your food. I was surprised to find it in something as simple as tortillas!
- Aspartame/Splenda/Equal/Artificial Sweeteners -this is something else the body cannot process and doesn't recognize. This has been linked to cause intestinal and brain defects. Aspartame and most sweeteners actually don't leave the body. The organs don't recognize it so don't know what to do with it. It just stays in your body rotting! Eww!
- Phosphoric Acid -used in shipyards to remove rust. This stuff erodes tooth enamel, high acidity likened to battery acid, and depletes the bones of needed minerals. Its in most sodas, especially colas. Its added for tangy flavor. Guys, pass on this! If you must have soda, use club soda which is simply carbonated water and mix with your favorite 100% fruit juice. Is tasty and no preservatives so no side affects.
This list is by no means is all inclusive. This is just a list of common things to cut out which are in most grocery store items. Shop at places like Whole Foods to get healthier preservative free alternatives to your favorite store foods.
While cutting out the those from the Outlaw List, try staying away from drying products such as store bought toners. Alcohol is drying and Salicylic Acid can only do so much. Choose natural toners like Witch Hazel to restore the balance and kill bacteria living on the face.
Finding the Cure-Here's what you need to do
Now that you're cutting out the bad, these are some things to look for in internal cleansing. Herbs, baby! A good herbal liver cleanse will have Sarsaparilla,Burdock Root, Artichoke Leaf, and Licorice to name a few. It will have a combo of two or all. These herbs will free up and remove those stuck on preservatives, fats, and gunk clinging on to your organs. You can find these items in the form of tea, herbal vegetarian capsules, and powder to add to drink.
The Replacements
Replace the junk with healthy alternatives. I started to eat raw foods and I felt amazing. Not only did my skin condition finally begin to improve when I tried everything on the market, but I felt great! My body was thanking me in this way. I felt I was operating at such a higher level now. My mental clarity was so on point, I didn't get as tired as I used to. And my energy was through the roof! Funny what happens when you have all those toxins weighing you down. I felt like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders. I got a double bonus. In trying to cure my acne naturally, I actually was healing my entire body! So here are some tips to help you do the same. Cut up fruits ahead of time so that you can have them ready to eat immediately when you start to get the munchies. Replace bagged chips with nuts. Cashews, Almonds, Pecans, Walnuts are all great nuts that give you protein, important fats, iron and minerals. This is a wonderful replacement. If you must have bagged chips opt for plain corn chips. The ingredients should say corn & salt only.
Got a sweet tooth? Ice cream lover? Try dates. These are a natural treat that will cure any sweet tooth. I like taking my dates and rolling them in nuts. Yum. Raisins and trail mix are also a great treat but again read labels. Many will have partially hydrogenated oils as well. I am number one ice cream feen! There are a couple of things to satisfy. Make a cold natural smoothy. Hmm. I also like homemade banana pudding. After eating this, I'm like whats ice cream? If you can cut down and eventually eliminate fast food dining, that would be best. Many things that say healthy such as McDonalds salad are full of fructose corn syrup and harmful oils so don't be fooled. Eat cabbage and lots of greens. I like to mix my cabbage with a homemade sauce and beans that is fantastically tasty. Try healthy combos that suite your palate. There are plenty of choices. Try cooking big meals ahead of time to avoid the temptation to eat out.
All these things will not only help you cleanse your body of waste, toxins, and gunk but your skin, hair and whole body will thank you. It will show you how much it thanks you by the beautiful glow you will begin to have.

Great hub Emily! I have done the all natural diet and the results are fantastic. You're right on. The diet is so difficult for me, I'm a terrible binge eater, lol. I take supplements, do a once a year colon cleanse & liver cleanse to help keep toxins down. The difference is amazing. Wish I could stick to the diet but my weight issues give me fits (autoimmunity)and I unfortunately, need junk tainted with more junk to maintain a steady weight. I even drink organic protein shakes and eat pure coconut oil to try and keep it up. We switched to organic soap as well and have seen a huge difference. No more acne treatments for us. :)
